Arsenal prepare 12 million bid for Rodwell

he's worth more to us than that. When a young lad from Southend decides to join us on the basis that he can see other young lads get in the team, you then can see why he's important to us.

I suspect that its another story with no quotes from anyone substantial. In which case its tosh. Lazy journo, just as the Man City story.

£12m for an essentially untried 18 yr old - one who plays in a position we have good cover for?
No brainer - sell.
He's no Rooney, and even if he's no Jeffers either that's too good to turn down. Not that the offer's there - the story's obviously bollocks.

If Kenwright has serious ambitions of staying around for another long period, i'd probably sell him on too.

I hear Wenger had a clock on his computer that counted down the days until Rodwell was legal.

I doubt the truth in this article, but I would take 12 mil for him. Would we even get 12 mil for Yak?

12 mil is a lot of money, rodwell is also one of the best young prospects in the entire EPL

i think it all depends on everton's long term goals. if we want to be a consistent 4th to 6th place team, 12 million is an excellent amount of money for a 17 year old, one who could easily be a bust in the future.

but i have bigger goals in mind, 6 years from now i want to be challenging for legitimate silverware, and i want rodwell to be leading that team (he'll still be fairly young at that point).

honestly i think where we finish this season should have some bearing on it, if we somehow slide out of a european place, we should sell him because we aren't the type of team to make gambles, and we need european football every year. if we finish 5th comfortably and close the gap with arsenal, i'd say we should dare to dream and hold onto him.

personally, i think between gosling and rodwell, the odds of neither of them coming good are extremely slim, we're in a very good position if we can keep wandering eyes away.

Rodwell can be the complete midfielder, and we should not sell him. He could become our Gerrard. We should not sell anyone. Everton are as good a club for any young player as you will find. As soon as a player is signed by the Sky-4, it seems that their value automatically goes up by 50%.

Why would you want to sit on the Arsenal bench while Wenger's latest exotic import on triple your wages gets the shoe in each week?
