Arsenal penalties

Arsene, you would agree then that your second goal should have been disallowed for a shirt pull on Bassong? I wouldn't, but then again I wouldn't have given the penalty - both incidents were nothing.

u have a cushy number with linesman, remember the linesman at our place last year. Drenthe 10 yards onside and he flagged. that linesman should never work in football again.

There's no such thing as soft penalty. Its either a foul or not. A foul on the penalty box is a penalty. No point in saying that team didnt get a penalty and this team got one. If we gonna go that route. Norwich goal came from a free kick that was never a free kick. Their player tripped on his trailing leg. And we should have had a penalty earlier with Walcott getting fouled anyway.

Also if you defend deep all game and invite pressure on you and the other team is throwing everyone at you. Then you will end up giving up situations like that end of the game

To take that further, you should never have had a penalty because the corner it came from wasn't a corner. The difference being is you didn't defend the free kick properly and they scored, a penalty is very different.

I agree, it wasnt a corner. But every team gets decision for and against them. For me it wasnt a corner, but once the corner was given their player dragged Girouds shirt enough for him not to make a contact with the ball. Just as we didnt defend properly, neither did they once the wrong decision was given.

Also for the poster who said Drenthe offside goal. Well I guess we are even for Sahas offside goal in the previous season

Not true at all. Giroud was never going to get that ball that's why he went down like a sack of **** after the ball made a connection with bassongs foot.

It does sound like people picking on Arsenal but to be honest I have always liked to watch them and if I come across a friendly fan in London they are inevitably gunners. This season though I just think its unarguable how things have gone for both Spurs and Arsenal and against the blues. Its maybe inevitable, I remember we started getting some clear favouritism from refs when we were up at the top way back when. Just think it needs pointing out because the media won't and it will just simmer when its not an issue between fans just poor or maybe bias officialdom.

The lofted ball was played by the Arsenal defender, which makes it not offsides.

With that said, yes, calls go both ways. This seasons RS at Goodison proved that.

think the argument is that if the Arsenal penalty on Saturday and say the Man city one at Maine road or whatever its called now, are penalties then Fellaini alone should get one or two a game. Its all in the language you hear from commentators.. certain teams have players who go down too easily, in another teams shirt the same incident is 'cleverly winning a penalty' or the amazing statement I have heard repeatedly that someone was entitled to go down. I used to follow the rightresult.com when they analysed these situations in a very strict manner and now another site doing similar. very few teams change position but regularly a non fashionable side battling for a European spot will find a lot of key decisions go against them. This season they have a twelve point swing between Everton and Arsenal/Spurs

what's the new site instead of right result? was disappointed when that went.

Never a corner, never a penalty, and walcott I think it was, was quite clearly offside.

If you can't see an offside three feet infront of you but are calling Penalties through crowded box?

That's three crucial decisions, one you can understand, two you question, three and there is something clearly going on with that linesman.

A quick google finds he's at the center of quite a few controversial decisions.

the offside goal didnt change anything. the game was already over by then and Norwich has given up. Two bad decisions. the corner and the free kick to them. It even itself out. The linesman was brave and should be applauded imo

I know you'd think that because you won.

The Linesman in my mind was pushed into giving the decision by Snodgrass, who berated him. My point is 'Professional' Refs and Linesman should not be so affected in the heat of the moment.

For the Penalty, both players are clearly holding onto one another.

I've no vested interest either way, only in justice.

was never a pen. Jesus, what was the liner thinking giving it from where he was standing. Absolute madness, dunno what on earth was going through his head.
