Men against boys today.

What I find annoying is looking at the bench and seeing that useless bloke Lawrence just sitting there legs crossed as we play keystone kops.

Been away for a week so asked son to record the game which I've just gone through the agony of watching...cant disagree with most comments here although in my 50 years of watching Everton I have seen worse....the players for the most part just seemed to be strolling around and arsenal never needed to get above 2nd gear to outplay us. I'd be inclined to get rid of RM now. Very very disappointing and for me unacceptable

I have a feeling he will be gone before the semi final.

Happen even over this ridiculous Easter international break.

(though in truth I am glad my Easter holiday in Donegal will not be ruined by Everton )

It is pretty obvious now he will not be here next season as things stand IMO.

The fans anger over the Hammers debacle had turned into resigned indifference by half time today.

By the end of the game many people round me were just laughing.

Fans and players alike need a boost......especially with trips to OT and The Pit coming down the pike.

If we win the semi final it would be disruptive to sack him before the Final.......if we win the Cup it is hard to sack a manager who had just brought home silverware......even if we continue this drift down the table.

He wins the Cup and gets to start next season in charge we will likely be down in the bottom six before the plug was pulled around Halloween.

We need to stop the drift......we need to do it sooner rather than later.

..a massive point is that we don't seem to have learned anything all season, same scenarios time after time. There is a lot to play for this season, for a manager under scrutiny and players wanting a start at Wembley.

We have been unfortunate. No arguments that City and Arsenal deserved to win. But...

Our mind was elsewhere when United visited.
Leicester needed two penalties to edge past us.
Stoke had a worldy and an injury-time pen to thank for their narrow victory.
Swansea also benefitted from a spot-kick in a tight contest.
West Brom scored from their only shot on target following a fortunate flick-on.
And West Ham stole all three points in stoppage time.

rubbish... you dont get that unlucky for that long, Everton under Martinez are utter, utter dung

Martinez is "building a football club" but at what expensive? We are on the same points as Bournemouth, not sure if we give him time?

Chin up boys and girls, it could be worse, we could be Villa supporters.

I'm not even remotely arsed about it today, and i'm not sure how to feel about that. I've almost become immune to tripe home performances and regular defeats. I've also not even bothered to read/listen to Martinez's post match comments as they have become almost comical.

One decent performance against Chelsea in the cup does not cover over the massive problems we appear to have.
You said it all in your post. This manager has made the experience of going to goodison this season a nightmare. I stopped listening and reading martinez's comments a long time ago as like you; find them comical. Sadly though I still get snippets of what he says from kopites who take great joy in what embarassing remarks he says about our players. The end can't come soon enough. Put joe royle and Ferguson and unsworth in charge till the end of the season. I guarantee it won't be any worse than what we are experiencing. At least these 3 Everton men through and through wouldn't tolerate some of the drivel we have experienced at home this season.

Combo of that and Besic also didn't press his opponent, Jags then was caught in two minds between leaving Welback unshielded or covering Mori's space and ended up doing neither.

It would have been helpful to the team if our genius tactician had decided to play besic on the side of a defensive midfield partnership where it actually suited his favoured foot instead of playing him in clusterf*ck of a system where you've got 2 wide players and Barkley all of whom he has to use his weaker foot to successfully reach with a pass. I personally felt sorry for the lad in the first half and almost left at half time (I didn't of course partly cos I thought watching the second half might qualify for Easter penitence and partly I'm an evertonian and so I don't know when enough mental torture is actually enough) when 2-0 down our tactical genius brought on a defender instead of deulefeu or Mirallas. It was arrogant tactics in the first place to believe we could out pass Arsenal like Barcelona did in midweek. The arrogance was compounded once again with hideous tactical decisions. Win the cup and go with our blessings... Whatever way ta ra la

Err Mirallas was suspended due to being an idiot against West Ham and iirc Besic has played on the left as part of three (Barry holding, McCarthy on the right and Besic on the left) and done well. He's struck me as not being particularly one footed, less so than James at anyrate but perhaps I haven't watched him closely enough.

Personally thought bringing Stones on was the right move at the time as it allowed Coleman to get forward far more but agreed that the whole game felt like a penance!
