What I cannot understand when Naismith plays in the same team as Lukarku he is not asked to play along side him he seems to be in midfield or out wide not the freedom Kone had today?
Yet in Scotland he played up top with the centre forward? Naismith seems do be wasted in that deeper midfield role yet pops up to score Kone does look as if he needs match practice TBH!

Probably because Naismith is so valuable to us helping out the defence...naismith has an excellent engine and for Everton can get up and down the pitch, helping out in attack as well as defence. In fact, the value of having Naismith on board cannot be underestimated as far as Roberto is concerned. He plays Naismith as a forward player, knowing that he is also an extra defender, its Robertos compromise, diluting his 'all out attack' philosophy just a little. Under Martinez, |Naismith or a similar player will always be on the team sheet.
