Are we in a relegation battle right now?

Are we relegationally challenged?

  • No, too early in season, over 38 games there will be at least 3 crapper teams

Stoke started with Peter Crouch and Steven Ireland tonight. They might not even go down.

Everton staying up this season is a virtual certainty. It's like people want to be miserable.

Unfortunately those two have as many Prem goals this season as DCL, Sandro, Lennon, Bolasie, Tosun, Lookman, Klassen and Vlasic added together. And it’s the only game Ireland has played.

The fact you've included Tosun in that list is precisely my original point. That looks really bad until you consider he's a new signing who's played an hour of football away at Spurs since he's been here. No reasonable person would include him in that list.

I wonder how many Stoke players I could list that Rooney has outscored combined.

The point was, naming 2 Stoke players - one who has scored the same as DCL from half the games, and one who has only started one game, doesn’t really say anything about Everton’s prospects of staying up.
I think we will, but we have been a few soft penalties away from being as bad as any team outside Swansea this season IMO.

As far as I'm concerned we are in a relegation battle, until we are mathematically safe. I don't think we go down, but if we keep playing like we did against Spurs in the second half we could.

We are until we get to 40 points, we are a shambles our best best is to keep shape and hit teams with Walcott and Niasse we literally have no pattern of play or tactic currently. Big Sam choked off any momentum we had with his tactics but the players are the main culprits under three managers now: a combination of not ready, not good enough or not performing. Add a poor defence to an inability to control the ball from midfield and it's a recipe for terrible football.
