Are Man City actually any good?

Most teams/clubs are mentally weak. Look at any sport, when people come under pressure they make mistakes. The RS went favourites to win the league for the first time yesterday, let's see how they react. The only time I remember this not being the case was with Leicester, they never blinked.

They have, by far, the best squad in the league.

But it doesn't matter, because as a club they don't have a "big club" mindset.

I said several months ago that I don't trust City to win anything but a one horse race, because the moment they come under any pressure, they're mentally weak as a club and they'll fold.

I got laughed at, but I was completely right.

Its a problem with modern footballers or at least a change from the last generation who weren't satisfied with just winning things once, they want to keep hold of it and win it again and again.

There's a reason why, for the most part once, a side wins the league and they drop massively the following season mainly due to players who just don't seem to be bothered after winning it.

Probably down to "winning" in the wage department than the trophy cabinet.

I think what helped Leicester was the expectancy levels from the fans, it they blew it none of them would of moaned about 2nd, that would of been a great season. They didn't have the pressure put on them, soon as them morons start doing the victory welcome parades will see what happens then
The pressure might be to much and another big Monthy Python boot will come along and squash the title challenge

Considering the money they’ve spent, it’s baffling that they don’t have adequate cover at DM, ST and LB.

They are still a fantastic team but the key difference between them and Liverpool at the moment is that Liverpool’s midfield is dominating whereas theirs looks shaky without Fernandinho.

They don't seem to have a second gear. I had trouble getting a decent stream for our game on Saturday so I watched them as I listened to us.

There was no urgency, just the same 'patient' way, which, to be fair, got them 100 points last season but they didn't seem to have a plan b.

I think City’s issue is that they are a brilliant team, but they don’t have the player who can grab the game by the scruff of the neck and win it back.

Someone like A Keane, a Gerrard etc.. deBruyne is hugely influential, as is silva, but they don’t know how to push forward, it’s weird.

I watched that Palace game, they’re losing 3-1, and they’re just passing it round... where’s your urgency? Where’s your desire? It was almost like they were thinking... “well score these three goals anyway”.

Poor.

When the going gets tough, City couldn’t get going.

They're a bit light on their feet.
When the going gets tough they only know one way to play. The RS are a bit more dogged to be honest.

I think that is a bit unfair.

This is a club which came from behind to win the title in injury time when United were already celebrating at Sunderland.

And the last time they went head to head with the RS for the title it was the latter who buckled under the pressure....first with Slippy and then at Crystalbul.
