Are Man City actually any good?

Wow. In my drunken stupor on Boxing Day I was quite the aggressive twerp on this thread. I apologise to all of those who read my posts and continue to read them.

They have, by far, the best squad in the league.

But it doesn't matter, because as a club they don't have a "big club" mindset.

I said several months ago that I don't trust City to win anything but a one horse race, because the moment they come under any pressure, they're mentally weak as a club and they'll fold.

I got laughed at, but I was completely right.
Not sure I follow this when their first two titles happened by first scoring with 90 seconds left in the season and second by not slipping up after Liverpool literally slipped up to hold on. They've actually won the title in two of the tightest seasons ever. Just because it may not happen this year doesn't mean they have a club wide mentality problem.

What is baffling about them is they're the richest club in the world yet have no natural cover at LB or DM which is what is really giving them problems right now.

Rumoured to be in for Chilwell from us in January. They do seem too reliant on Fernandinho in that CDM role

If Chilwell does that hopefully he actually gets to play. They were in for Jorginho in the summer and then he went to Chelsea and they did nothing instead. It was an odd decision that hasn't worked.

I said last week that Pep just doesn't seem all that arsed about the league this season. If I were Spurs I'd be putting a massive effort into really going for the title.. they have a great opportunity now.
What has Pep said that indicates he's not arsed about the league? Of course he is and it's mental to suggest otherwise. In half a season worth of games, city have 44 points, which if replicated in the 2nd half of the season would give them 88 points. Most seasons 88 points would win the league. How not arsed does he need to be for City to play like also rans?

.....regardless of City dropping points, the Reds have been relentless. The points total the Reds have is astonishing and it would be difficult for any team to live with that.

I said pre-season that I thought City would have a good go at the Champions League. It’s very difficult to compete for your domestic title and win the Champions League. Of last season’s semi-finalists, only Bayern were in contention for their domestic league.

Still the best side in the league and will probably still win it. They are too strong, with the best manager and have unlimited funds.

They can go out and buy the best holding midfielder in the world for a world record now if they wanted.

Over the course of the season they should still be favourites.

Are you forgetting the fact that you lot bought the worlds most expensive CB & 2nd most expensive GK? Hardly paupers now are you
