Are Everton players role models

Well we sign them to play football not to be 'role models'. So what if your kid's role model turns out to be a meff, don't complain about it use it to teach them a lesson about life. I dislike all this role model stuff, people are just people, as the Members Only Crew said 'Be Your Own Man' or woman.

I dont believe Ferguson was a thug, he just could handle himself on the pitch. Has for him going to jail for a headbutt during a game, why is Cantona worshipped after his infamous kung-fu attack at Palace?? Now that is being a thug.

He was a thug, let's be honest.

There have been a few rough lads in the past but I think Moyes places a lot of emphasis on player character when looking at signings.

Team spirit and the ability to fit in seem to be high on his agenda. I bet he hires P.I.s to research possbile signings for any signs of being a meff.

Because he punched and butted opposition players, alot of the time for no reason.

He butted one in Paul McStay, a player who at the time claimed he was hardly touched until someone told him to put in a claim. He strangled Steffan Freund and punched Djorkaef in the ribs. Apart from one or two minor spats after that, i dont see how he can be labelled a thug. It is off field incidents that are thugish behaviour, Barton, Gerrard, Bowyer, Bellamy etc etc.

He also punched Paul Scharner during a match.

I love Dunc but he was a thug. Our thug and a legendary one but still a thug on the pitch even if he played with pigeons off it.

When I lived up in Stirlingshire, I knew a few people that knew the Ferguson family. Let's just say that they were considered pretty "rough".

Still stand by my opinion that he was no thug. He was a hard man and when he was pushed too far, he let them have it. Pitty there are'nt more players like him these days, there all fairy's apart from our lads of course.

He punched Fredi Bobic for no reason.

He punched Paul Sharner for no reason.

He strangled Freund for very little.

He was fined in Scotland for kicking a Hearts fan on crutches.

And there are more I could throw in, the man was a thug to be honest. It's as simple as that. A very talented player (on his day) but also a thug.

It was difficult to dislike BD, but he went too far sometimes, mate. If he had been a RS, I reckon he would have been universally detested by Evertonians.

I never considered Dunc a thug, more an old school hard man, but i dont really know much about all the incidents TB pointed out, so i cant really judge. But he wasnt on Keane's level. He was a thug.
