Anyone know how to fix printers?

Seriously though, do you think this thread would have more serious thought if it was in a different forum. Like a Skills Exchange. Were all pretty skilled in our little areas, so we could all benefit from one another. Kind of like, I'll build you a wall if you can paint my ceiling type of thing.

Without wanting to belittle your financial problems, most people would (and do) just buy a new one since they are marked down as loss leaders to tie you into printer cartridges - therefore relatively little call for printer repair.

I know, but this printer cost more than 50 quid, plus I just replaced the cartridges, so if I can get someone to repair it - then saves me spending more money.

ghost i had an epson, worked fine , just replaced ink and it stopped working, i contacted epson and they said they are programmed to need a service after a length of time and then it will work again, they then added that the service is more expensive than a new one. ffs it was working fine until their software stopped it working.

Yeah, but see I can see where it is broken, I just don't know how to fix it.

Sell the cartridges on ebay.

Perhaps even worse than your dilemma, I bought what I thought were 4x genuine Epsom cartridges on Ebay - printer broke, I try to sell what I thought were genuine cartridges on and get bollocked by an angry buyer accusing me of being a fraudlent seller!

He knew an unerving/psychotic amount of detail regarding authentic packaging of Epsom cartridges, and tried to scare me with lots of important qualified lawyer-type initials after his name.

Now I'm stuck with these dodgy cartridges and I think they probably are what ruined my printer.

They are in the printer.

Take it to the tip and use the one at the petrol station.

You can then combine a nice printing/photocopying session with a Ginsters.

* Sorry I couldn't help in a serious way.
