Anyone else very excited at the prospect of us relegating Spurs?

Main reason I wamt them to go down is the damage they indirectly caused us over the years....

Numerous players pinched from under our noses for the myth of London and a few more quid in the bank...

Pienaar for pennies then rinsing us for his return

Richarlison for less than his true value to us because of the circus they call psr

Never mind the rat robbie Keane, les ferdinand, kane etc all loving to score against us

I remember when we were in for Kyle Walker, looked a sure thing, then they signed him. So we immediately went after his teammate Kyle Naughton who was a right back who'd been playing at left back to accommodate Walker at RB, and they went and gazumped us again for no good reason other than they could. They had absolutely no use for him, but didn't want us to have him. His career went nowhere as a result cos he couldn't get in their team.

Apparently Paulinha was pretty close until they made a move for him, even their manager at the time said he was surprised they went for him and got him.

Did the same with Danjuma, turned out to be a donkey but that's beside the point.

Moussa Sissoko was another one. So many times we've nearly got a player only for them to swoop in last minute and take him and not use him.

Then there was Saha, Pienaar and Richy

The only way I can possibly get my head around it is if you are just a fan of the occasion, and your local club offers that.
It doesn't matter what league you are in, if you support the club, you want to see progress not regress..

Supporting the club or the occasion 🤷‍♂️
That's nothing to do with what I said? For some clubs they see going up and down the divisions as all part of the ride, for others being at the top level is a key part of their identity, the way they view relegation is obviously going to be different. It's just the same as how some clubs would see getting to an FA Cup semi final as an experience and just something to enjoy as a day out while others would see it as means to an end and will only enjoy it if they win. Obviously everyone wants to win and wants to stay up, but how you feel about not doing it will differ depending on what your base level of expectation is. Like if we managed to finish 5th and qualified for the CL next year I wouldn't expect us to be winning the thing, and so would treat the whole thing as a bit of a bonus and just hope we had a few fun days along the way before inevitably bowing out. Real Madrid fans wouldn't view it the same way, because their expectations are different. It's all pretty standard.

But if Spurs don't go down, somebody else will. There's always heartache for somebody. It will also have very little to do with us if they get relegated, they've only won 7 games and one of them was actually against us.
That was my whole point before I somehow got lost in conversation..

Saying you don't wish it anybody, but then pull out teams you want to stay up.

Playing in the champions league and not winning it.
Promotion to Relegation.

I know which one would effect me more..

Pretty sure the signing on fee from their new club will offset that

I don't understand you? Do you think players will leave Spurs for free?

Levy ensured every transfer he made all had 50% wage reductions if they go down.

If Spurs did go down, any player they sell would have to have Spurs blessing to leave - if they don't choose to sell, that player is on 50% than he's on now.

I can see why some smaller clubs might prefer playing in the championship, but find it mad fans of a club the size of Leeds would have that view.

If you're coming in to the prem and winning like 4/5 games in a whole season it can't be a nice experience.Championship games are also about £20 odd for a ticket, and clubs who get mullered in the PL can actually win the Championship or get to Wembley.
My next door neighbour is a ST holder at Leeds. Of course he wants to stay in the PL, but going down is nothing to worry about for him. They win more matches, no VAR, less pressure on losses - generally more fun.

So whilst not wanting relegation, he does not despair at the thought of it. He went, of course, vs Brentford …. His comment, a longways to go for yet another boring draw.
