Player Valuation: £35m
Will this summer be has annoying as last regarding the revolving doors in and out of Goodison? We know it is early days but already, the likes of Wolves are starting to strengthen their squad. Moyes deserves a holiday but why not delay them in order to get in players early before it is too late plus getting the new faces the opportunity to gel during the whole pre-season. I just fear we are going to be in for a repeat of last year having to be frustrated that all but us will be active in the transfer market. Moyes has already cut the squad by 4 bringing in 3 players and releasing 7 in what is one of the smallest squads in the Premier League. Come on Moyes and Kenwright, get to work on strengthening our squad.

Well, with Arsenal first game of the season it's essential we get the team sorted way before then unlike last season when we got humiliated at home by a [Poor language removed] Blackburn team.
I have faith in Moyes to pull the strings but we can't have a start like we did last season if we have serious ambitions of getting in the top 4, obviously Arsenal being our closest threat to claiming 4th

We signed a £15 million pound player last season, we will do the same this season.

I also doubt Moyes would have let so many players go, if he was intending not to replace them.

1 x cheap deal, player for the future (£5m)
1 x expensive deal, a Moutinho type (£15m)
1 x Bosman deal, a Pennant type
1 x loan deal, hopefully a Jo type

Net spend of £20m+

If Lescott goes, clearly another centre-back will brought in.

What about a surprise move for Distin? He's 30, but we could get a couple of seasons out of him. Should be cheap as well with only 12 months left on his contract. Hard as nails, too.

I was really optimistic this time last year and thought we were going to make giant strides bringing players in, only to be disappointed, so not going to let it get to me this year.

i'm confident this will be a good summer. we have a top 5 team as it is so hopefully moyes can identify some genuine quality to improve and then it's smoking jackets and gin all round. what-ho!
