Anichebe over Jelavic?

If Jelavic starts after a performance like that, it will be massively detrimental to the team.

To The Chibe/Vellios as they must be despairing wondering what they have to do to get in the team

To Jelavic his motivation to try for his place will be non-existant

I would continue to play Jelavic as he is a natural goalscorer and the only one we have at the club.

He will come good again.

Vic looked decent for the initial part that he played last night, but then went back to being Bambi on ice for the last 15-20 minutes and was too lazy to even get in front of his man and hold it up.

I think he'll start Anichebe over Jelavic for the next game or two. Taking Jelavic off was a precursor for that. He does need a rest or be dropped for a while to kickstart his season in some weird way.

We also looked a hell of a lot better with Fellaini in midfield so it may be that either Naismith or Mirallas will get to play up front with Anichebe. Obviously I'm guessing loads and am probably wrong here.

we did look better with fellaini deeper , however i would have kept jelavic on and took off naismith and had mirralles and vic interchanging between right wing and centre forward with jelavic playing on the shoulder where he should be .He should have scored but he is getting only 1 chance a game now due to chasing centre backs and running channels . Attack should be built around him in the box not dragging players away for fellaini . I also feel he is intimidated by fellaini and feels he is playing second fiddle to himmel.

For me I'd like a couple of games of Anichebe starting, Vellios to come on after 60mins and join him if we need goals.. If Vic's knackered then Vellios/Jelavic combination.

TBH Jelly was fed on poor hoof balls all the first half lets remeber he kicked tyhe ball off the line his defensive duties were great - when Victor came on he looked better ok he messed the victor perfect pass for a goal but crap happens when you have been starved of service all night!
I do not want to see the Osman PN parnership in centre mid ever again DM could see it every blue could see it was being over run it was only Colemans injury that changed it!
We then looked a better team - Victor holds the ball up & links play Jelly does not do this so I would play them both double score threat the ****e now have the SAS combination upfront - we need a Victor jelly combination with Feli in midfield - PN is never a midfielder & Osman looks burnt out that was a big problem last night along with it making other players play poor Naismith contribution was to back into the keeper all night & he can only run for 30 minutes too - its a dads army team no youth in it - DM praised PN- I gave him 3 out of ten performance wise last night his passing was pathetic!

Jelavic is a striker that is all about the service he gets. When we have a fully fit squad with Gibson holding midfield together and Fellani, Mirallas, Baines and Piennar able to get forward and be creative, then i'd pick Jelavic every time. If some of our more creative players are not available or Fellani will have to play a little deeper then i'd be picking Victor.

Victor should have started last night for sure.

Victor's doing enough to earn starts IMO. If you want genuine competition for places you need to play players who are in form. Vic done more last night than Jelavic has in his last five games.

For me Jelavic needs to be told to stop covering every blade of grass and just play in between the lines of the 6yd box. There's 9 others to do that work and goals are worth more.

I think it'll help him to get either Naismith or Mirallas behind him too. Much better and more intelligent in thier movement and both can see a through ball that bit more than Mo.

Wanted Vellios on last night when Jelavic went off. Although not intended (in how it panned out) it made something happen versus Spurs.

What about the performance of Naismith, Pienaar, Osman, Neville? All had just as bad a game if not worse.

That chance las night was just what he needed, to break the fooking net. To just remind us what he is about.

Change in formation has affected his confidence now, and he is switching off.

Play Naismith and Jelavic at front together, partnership is boss, even Jelavic admitted that. Moyes unfortunately doesn't see that and Vic will be used as a game changer if it isn't going right.
