disagree that last summer was a mess - huge squad overhaul and we improved the team and reduced the average age of the squad - didn’t get everything we needed, but you never do.

That was done without the whole recruitment team being in place and they will since have been tasked with taking a strategic approach to improving us over a couple of windows, hence the limited activity this window.

PSR less of a restraint this summer, and the progress we have made on and off the pitch this last 12 months makes us more appealing to the types of players who weren’t interested last summer.

We have a great story to sell to any up and coming player looking to move to the prem or progress their career and we will have the budget to make deals happen.

We should also have targets identified and sounded out. I’m expecting us to sort out a number of our weaker areas.

Finishing this season strong, with a top half finish and preferably Europe makes us even more compelling.
