Angus 'happily dissatisfied' Kinnear

I'd actually have Thelwell back, this much vaunted ( by themselves) recruitment team have wasted the best part of £120m. Thelwell had to make a profit each year and still managed to bring in N'diaye and Obrien in.

I was thinking just the other day that history will judge Thelwell much more favourably than people did at the time.

Not DoF though, that ship has sailed under Moyes. I don't know about Thelwell, because he was nipped in the bud. Don't know how he works under normal conditions. He has not set the world alight at Rangers mind. So he could simply be a 'genius of the system', someone who works exceptionally well under restraint and rules only. I think sub-20mil is his playground. We have not had a lot of success with signings like Onana or Beto (I like them).

What an absolute knob writing that editorial with everything still up for grabs but with the squad and manager on its worst run of the season and heading in the direction of where we finished last season. Are we still happy finishing 13-14th this season after a £100m spend and it all unused? Pathetic.

'Kin peanuts...the cost of one Declan Rice, who isn't even a forward; it's about 20 years too late for that sum to mean anything in regard to an entire squad. We need 250-350m of squad investment just to effectively stop pissing in the wind or, basically, 10m a year for every year of systemic rot. I think that's a fair assessment.
