McNeil was rubbish too mate. Now he contributes somewhat to us winning games.

Not exactly sure we can be choosy in our situation. Am i saying sign him for another year? God no. But we literally had three non-defenders on the bench in our last game

If he was back and fully fit now with 15 games to go, I reckon he could provide at least 5 goal contributions either scored or assists. How many other players have we got that you could possibly expect that from.

Wether you love him or not, with our squad, in the position we're in. We need a player like him...

If we still have McNeil( who is still crap) pro footballer on 60k a week puts in a few crosses and works hard. Gray, iwobi and Townsend we will be in the bottom 6 next season even if we have DCL and a new 30mil striker

It’s just how far we’ve fallen. that fans think McNeil,Townsend and gray are good players.
Gray has turned into richarlison the last 3 weeks after getting left out.

Spurs got rid of Townsend when they quickly realised he was crap. That’s what clubs with a plan and ambition do. We give crap players new deals and let them hang around for 6/7 yrs like Tom Davies.

In his whole career he averages a goal every 11 games, so I think you’re be very hopeful with that prediction. He took a lot of our set pieces so that always helps with assist like McNeil has just got one for Arsenal. From open play I doubt he has many over the years and for us since he’s joined us

I'm sure his record just for us is better then that !!
Tho I'm not really a stat man or I'd be expecting maupay to hit another 6/7 goals..

Townsend has 3 goals in 21 prem games, 1 is a pen. So he’s about bang on his average, no clue on assists but he was definitely taking the majority of set pieces under Rafael

Sorry but I very much doubt its anything to do with these players actual ability, what it comes down to is what we actually have in front of us to chose from.
That's what you have to look at, what you have at your disposal...

Being best of a bad bunch doesn't make you a great player, but you would still want that player available..

Exactly this.

I'm not sure how we plan beyond the next game in our predicament. Summer signings? I mean what planet are we on. We need to survive the season. Can a healthy Townsend help us survive? Given the other options, yes, he probably can.

We'll deal with the summer and getting better players at that point. Now isn't the time for idealism
