Solid debut. Was committed and did all the basics effectively, that's all you can ask.

Similar to Walcott, just costs us far less. Will be a handy squad option as the scenes winds on, unlike that donkey who replaced him.

better I think. Walcott is pacier but in terms of basic positioning awareness ball skills Townsend looked better, today anyway.

if we had a player who just did “what the average reasonably competent PL player would do to be productive” in each moment it would be quite beneficial and a good sight better than some of the dross we’ve had to watch.

He was okay. Not great but not awful. SOme great crosses and some poor ones.

As put above his positioning and awarness did seem better than wingers we've had there previously, Walcott particularly.

GOod header back into the mixer for the leveller also.

Didn't think much came off for him and his position was strange at times. Liked his attitude, was always speaking to players, first to help them up etc. Hopefully be an important part of the squad.
