When he gets runners and pace infront of him and outwide. The space he gets. That’s when he’s dangerous. No denying his ability. Just needs people to run off him. Too many times in recent seasons, we’ve had no width and his space has been taken up.

Let’s not get carried away, the first 10 minutes of his cameo involves him losing the ball several times, giving away at least two needless fouls and a few chasing shadow moments. Needs more time to get match fit.

Cos he’s crap 9.5 times out of 10.

Let’s be fair to Benitez, playing him in the hole tonight against a tiring defence was a quality bit of game management. Gomes was allowed more time than usual on the ball than usual with him being fresh and the defenders being goosed.

Credit to both tonight (and I’m no fan of either).
