Exactly Charles, I think Gomes would be more likely to be effective against Southampton than Leeds.

He's just not cut out for the hustle and bustle of the premier league. He constantly gets caught flat footed. Opposing managers will be telling players to close him down the second a pass is even hit in his direction.

It might sound basic, but I'd consider telling him to hit as many long balls as possible when we do need to use him. No arsing around. No passing backwards. Hit long first touch passes into the channels for either/or DCL and Richy.

His long ball aren’t as good as you think. We should just forget about him and play Donny.

I really don't get the sentimental pass some people seem determined to keep giving to him, based off one half-decent first season where he merely did alright.

The only reason he s playing at the moment is because we have no one else fit enough to play in that position, he played better against Brentford because they mostly sat back and gave him plenty of space to operate in,even then he made plenty of poor passes gave really stupid free kicks because he just hasn’t got the energy or more important the aggression or bottle to get stuck in, patently obvious that he not suitable to play in the premier league.

I think Lampard will be insulted by Gomes and the fact that he thinks he could have gotten away with disrespecting him with such a pathetic effort.

Lampard has bore witness to many a player who didn't put in a shift and I don't think he is going to tolerate it.... I think Gomes will get dropped and potentially from the squad.

Yeah, he will use 1 of the other many, many midfield options we have....................... Wait a minute.
 
Done with him now, fact is he is a cm who can not tackle no pace and is prob still trying to turn round now. Yes sometimes he can spread the ball good but he does it maybe 1/5 games or higher. Needs to be sold
 
I think a lot depends on the availability of Mykolenko. If he is not available we are trying to squeeze someone else into that position and may be forced to go with a back five again.

If he is available we could revert to a back four , go three in the middle and three further forward.

If Mykolenko is not available id
Probably go for Kenny, not ideal but a better option than, Coleman, Townsend or Branthwaite. The caveat to that is play patterson RB in a 4 and get him to play as a wing back, he’s got energy, pace, good going forward, apparently.

And Kenny can be a little bit more defensive,
So we can have 3 back most of the time and especially as their best player is in his side

I think he’ll just play Kenny in a flat back 4. Or Coleman with Holgate RB, but doubt he’ll do that.

But Holgate RB and Coleman LB if I’ve read it right, you just give up the initiative To this Leeds side. We will not keep a clean sheet not matter what side/formation we go with.

So let’s just fight fire with fire. We have better forwards than them, we’re at home. Let’s just try and out score them
