An open letter to Ibrahima Bakayoko

Always remember him being presented to the Goodison faithful, it was at that time the biggest reception I had ever see at.
Goodison for a new signing, it could have been because he was the first black player we bought (if memory serves me correct)
He became known as Back of the Echo, utter +++++.

Think that was Amokachi mate.

Blackburn away march 1999, relegation 6 pointer 1-0 down and needing a win and he scored 2 invaluable goals to give us the win,it was 9 weeks since his last goal.

Boss night.

Blackburn went on to be relegated instead under Brian Kidd, after Roy Hodgson had been sacked earlier in the season.

Cliff Marshall back in the 70s. Thought didn't buy him, he was a youth player

The 1975-76 season saw Marshall make four league starts. Frustrated by a lack of playing time, he looked for a transfer at the end of the season. Speaking in 2009, Marshall revealed that a dispute with coaching staff at Goodison Park also contributed to his exit: "In the end, I got a bit disillusioned [at Everton]. I loved playing football, football was my first love. But what disillusioned me was some of the coaches at Everton said 'your first priority is to defend', and I didn't like that. I'm an attacker; defending should be my second priority. I moved on."

FFS Moylez!!!

He's barely played. Needs a bit more time before we can judge him really. He's only played 82..... Oh bakayoko.

was he really that shiiite?

Never really watched him play
I actually don't think he was necessarily as bad as people say.

Looking at wiki, he played 23 games for us, and scored 4.

For starters, pretty sure we've had strikers with a worse gpg record than that. But mainly, he came from the French league, at a time when it was fkn awful. These days, it would be understood that coming from a league of that quality takes time to adjust, and he'd be given a bit more time.

Not saying he was great, obviously, but he's definitely gotten worse in people's eyes as time has gone on.

HE'S THE NEXT GEORGE WEAH LADS

And was PYAR boss on Champ Man 97/98

Always cost £8.5m so when we got him for what was it, £4.5m I was dead excited.

HAHAHAHA

I remember one game, against Leicester I think (0-0 draw) i was in the lower bullens.

We had a good little spell of possesion and the ball came out - it literally just needed to be slotted in and we were 1 up. There was a post in the way, so i didnt see who had the envious job of slotting into a virtually empty Gladwys st net, but the ball spun away and finished up near the corner flag.

I turned to my mate, who had been able to see the player that took the shot and asked "Bakayoko?" His nod confirmed it.

What a legend!
