Any of you yanks been to one of the restaurants featured on man v food? If so, what did you eat, how did it rate and did you try any challenges.

Yeah, I've been to a couple. Have gone to The Salt Lick plenty of times. It's not one of the places with a challenge on the episode, it's just one of the early places he goes to because it's absolutely incredible. Best BBQ I've ever had in my life.

I've also been to The Big Texan, where the first episode was filmed. While I didn't try the challenge, mainly because it's a SEVENTY TWO OUNCE STEAK, the steak I did get was pretty good but certainly nothing special.

I went to a place in Fairbanks, AK that had pictures of the Man vs Food guy eating there. Can't remember the name of the place or if it was featured on an episode.....

What I do remember, was the open-faced Turkey sandwich with mash and gravy was pretty damn spectacular!!! Huge plate of food and it only cost $5!!!!

I've never been to USA, I have however stopped over in Atlanta airport en route to somewhere else and my 2 - 3 hours in the food court convinced me it's probably the next place I should visit.

I found a place called Arby's, a lot of travelling americans tell me it's not got that good a reputation...

But this is what I bought ....

that's the angus three cheese and bacon

and it was pretty sweet, but I'm sure there's probably better out there

so please, fellow travellers and North American foodies, make me hungry ...

There's a whole South Park episode about "Arby's Horsey Sauce". I see someone's posted one of the Simpsons references to it above. It does have a bad rep.
