American Food

Call this pasta salad and get mocked in my house. This is macaroni salad.

In honor of baseball season, let's have a variety platter from the Nu-Way Weiner in Macon.
If you're in Macon, you must stop at Nu-Way, preferably downtown. Slaw Dog is on the left, all-the-way on the right.
If you must choose, I would go with all-the-way. Mustard, onions, and chili on the reddest hot dog south of the Mason-Dixon line...

Like the sign says, the best weiner in town...

that chilli dog has made me so FKING hungry. Drooling like a fat bulldog here

When eaten with pineapple covered ham, macaroni salad, dressed eggs (as my aunties would say), and ambrosia salad on Easter Sunday, they are American :D

RAFUH you are a lady of impeccable taste (at least when it comes to food) but what monstrosity is this?

Deviled eggs....my church going great-great aunties would call them "dressed" eggs

The filling is egg yolks mixed with mayo, mustard, pickle relish, salt, pepper and sprinkled with paprika....for the basic recipe.
There are infinite ways to make them. I like a little dill and a spicy mustard.
@mezzrow

Edit: I should add...very tasty when done well. Horrid if not.

Very Southern to called them "dressed," although I could imagine one of my grandmothers using that term. She always addressed the great-grandsons as "Master"

Thanks, as a lover of virtually all food stuffs, the one thing I really cannot abide is eggs in any form.

(nods) Try adding some mashed capers. Nom.

The best culinary dollar in Jacksonville is the "simple" deviled egg at Restaurant Orsay on their Sunday brunch. One egg (two halves), one buck.

No matter what else you order, get one of these first.

(nods) Correct. These ladies would also likely ask if the punch has been "improved" before getting a glass themselves.

I know its slightly not on topic... but anyone been to Reds True BBQ in town? They went over to the BBQ World championship

"All in all, we came 24th out of 144 in brisket, and 98th overall out of 430 teams entries in the competition… not bad for a set of drunk Brits hey!"

Few of my mates went the other week said it was well nice!

Yeah, it's decent. But I'd say Hickorys was better.
