Mixed experience of eating in the US - a mixture of the good, bad and downright ordinary. Plenty of places wanted to overface you with far too much on the plate but others were downright bland and ordinary. I remember a Subway equivalent that was nothing special and another diner in NY that was plain in the extreme. A place in The Bowery that was fairly average and rather overpriced was another. So yeah plenty of choice and, like everywhere else, good and bad.
Went to a proper southern wedding this weekend.

Your experience/opinion is probably more legitimate than most, but if your view of American food is only what you've had in NYC, there's much more to experience.
The food I've had in NYC was generally pretty uninspiring.
I'm sure there is great food there, but there is also a lot of overpriced tourist trap trash.
Also been to Memphis, DC, Chicago and Cheeseconsin.
Why is non of this available at Goodison?!

I will confess that the ballpark food on the Southside has always been superior to that at Wrigley. Not a fan of the Chicago dog, myself. If I wanted salad, I'd have ordered a salad. Celery salt? Meh.

Got to be slaw in the south, Finners. It's how we do it. Here's the best dog in the South, from Nu-Way Wieners, Macon, Ga. The chili dog is almost a religious experience. Yes that's mustard and onion on the chili dog. It works.

Some of the food in that article looks insane. I can say that I've had the garlic fries at AT&T Park...addictive as hell
