Proper gravy.

White gravy is a southern atrocity.

Mainly it's an atrocity because I don't like it and I regularly end up with it because I do in fact want gravy with my biscuits. No, not that gravy dammit. Now my biscuits are ruined :(
The turkey will come with proper gravy, but morning biscuits will come with sausage gravy, and chicken fried steak will come with cream gravy.
Just order the biscuits no gravy, RB. And ask for butter (that's cream + salt) to go with so they won't screw it up in the back. You won't get the gravy you're looking for unless you get the meat to go with, or unless you find a proper northern style diner (they exist down here for guys like you, see Marietta Diner in the ATL for an example).

I sympathize... Finding proper grits in the upper midwest 40 years ago was a real treat ('kin impossible). My mother would mail them to me.

is that Hunter S in your av ?

...was once tempted to use this as an avatar. When I think of HST and the color blue, this is what I think of.

I think I died a little inside with that comment. Done correctly cream gravy, especially sausage, is devine.
