My dear Aunt Dorothy started mixing it up last year and included mashed sweet potatoes in addition to the standard mashed potatoes. It was a revelation.

Not too sure, Southern Dad was the cook for Thanksgiving growing up, so sweet potato pie and mashed potatoes with gravy (not white gravy at least) was the order of the day.

Of course, big fan of roasted potatoes too...and scalloped...and boiled...and baked...and made into soups, salads, dumplings or pancakes...really any way a potato can be cooked is great by me.
