Homepage Update: Allardyce uncertain on any further incomings

To my mind we need a left footed player. If he is a midfielder, play 3 centre halves and 2 wing backs. If he is a defender, play 4 at the back, but we need a left footed player in the team.

We need to sell now to break even. Like I’ve said numerous times the only money we have is from sales

All smoke and mirrors. Saying we aren’t interested in anyone else is just to deflect so we can go after targets without prices being bumped up because of the media frenzy that follows.

I don’t believe him tbh. Gonna go with the “I don’t want to say I’m desperate for a left back in case clubs realise I’m desperate and charge us too much” but that’s just me chatting utter nonsense. It’s a stupid theory. In reality we won’t sign a left-back.

Which is precisely why we should be going out and buying a left back.

You dont play midfielders like James McCarthy, Gana or Besic at left back, the same as you dont play right backs like Martina, Coleman or Kenny at left back.

You play left backs at left back.

Would you play Holgate as centre forward? No
Would you play Niasse at right back? No
Would you play Rooney in goal? No

So why the ( insert own swear word here) are we continuing to play HIM at left back?

Actually both Rooney and Jagielka is quite capable in goal, just saying but I get your point. Time to stop putting square pegs in round wholes

It's clear Allardyce is after a left-back but the problem is quality. I think his comments were simply an attempt to play down transfers in the event that they can't find someone of sufficient quality.
