Allardyce Revisited

It's the manner of putting out weak sides v teams we should be beating we were that bad CuCu was up there for MOTM!
One shot on target a goal they were there to be beat not with our team selection!

I wouldn't worry about it Joe.

A lot of people on here were warned when they went full Sunderland on us and started using cringey "Sizable Samuel" monikers that we'd only beaten some total rot, and that this run of fixtures would highlight the real progress.

Can you imagine if Koeman or Moyes had lined up like that today? There would have been a bloodbath.

Allardyce Revisited, like indigestion after a bad lunch

One attempt at goal we score - then sit back deflected goal but it was coming!
Bournemouth crap at home his team selection tells you he plays for a point!
Sorry he has to change or go!

He won`t change and he won`t go until the end of the season.

Look on the bright side Joey, at least the Allardyce Fan Boys are on the turn.

In years to come, he'll be rightly looked at, as a stain on the history of the club.

His history of a manager is a firefighter for relegation fodder teams apart when at Bolton, and Blackburn where even then the football was uninspiring - on his way up I went to two FA cup games with a non league club, many years ago. I watched now and then in the lower leagues at Blackpool 2nd round and Notts county both times his teams scraped through dire football, and big hoofers and kickers in his sides!
He may change but somehow a leopard never changes his spots - he will get us safe , and that is what he has been appointed to do with a poor squad of players, but the negativity atm is very boring to watch - here's hoping ?

Quick 'revisit' since December 16th 2017
  • 6 games
  • One win at home to the mighty Swansea
  • 5 goals total, three of them against Swansea at home
  • two draws
  • three defeats
  • two home games without a shot on target
  • two away games with one shot on target
  • out in the first round of the Cup with one shot on target
  • 7 goals conceded
Miracle worker.

He’s been in charge of more than 6 games though. I wonder why you edited the first few out??

Creates a bit of an unfair picture though don’t you think?

Not really, because the whole point of the post was, a vehemently anti-Allardyce post did a full 'revisit' (hence the article title) on December 16th, something like four games into his tenure.

It was called for being ridiculously hasty then, and in the what, three weeks since then, you've got the 6 games listed above.

I mean, if you want the full picture, it's 3 wins in 10 games, the three wins against sides no higher that 13th and all with a point or less a game, three defeats, four draws, and out of the cup at the first time of asking.

And that's without the stat that in 40% of the games we've had one shot on target or less.

Still 9th in the Premier League, no immediate danger of slipping back down into trouble. In other words, currently doing his job.

Still a vast improvement on what we were doing before he arrived.
