"I’m waiting and the player is desperate to come [back]. I think today we have a talk with him and the doctor and I think we can start to look for him for the next year.

We hope that it can be a different year because the guy has had a lot of problems; he has suffered a lot and we hope that 2021 will be fantastic for him.

I don’t think [we will see him before the end of this year] but the important thing will be for him to start to train with the team."

Massive news to know him and Digne are back in full training. Get some players rested and hope Villa are missing some players if that game goes ahead. We're nearly at a fully fit squad which is amazing. I'd assumed him and Digne would be back at the end of January so they're a good few weeks ahead of schedule.

Villa game should happen i think as long as no more this week off course, they actually had players test positive on monday going off statement to local paper, then more on thursday, so whatever players it was monday should be ok

Aston Villa have released a statement confirming that the club's Bodymoor Heath training ground has been closed after a 'large' number of players and staff returned positive tests for coronavirus.

Players and staff were routinely tested for Covid-19 on Monday morning and the club have said that those who tested positive immediately went into isolation.

After a second round of testing, more positive results have been confirmed today and first team training ahead of Friday night's game against Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup was cancelled.
