Depending on Digne/ Coleman’s return I could see either of Godfrey or Holgate stepping into Allan’s place alongside Doucoure.

The one who actually intrigues me though is Tom Davies. You’d have to be blind to miss seeing his head shaking mistakes , but he does the job asked of him by his manager. I think he could turn into a decent player in this role and if any manager can do it it’s Carlo. #Goes to fetch tin hat.
Tbf he has been fine this season good against Brighton and was fine at wing back even has done well closing games he is probably more like for like than Gomes who just looks so slow and is defensively ponderous.

well, if siggy & iwobi started contributing under ancelotti, I don't see why davies couldn't step up as well. Give him a chance, can at least tackle compared to gomes.
In fairness to Davies, the times he’s been called upon this season, I think he’s done fine, nothing spectacular, but nothing ridiculously stupid and can cover plenty of ground, which against a side that have been struggling to score goals from open play this season, may well be enough. Not his biggest fan, but I wouldn’t be bricking it if it’s him that does come in to fill the Allan void, but with all this said, I imagine Carlo will opt for Gomes ahead of Davies tomorrow anyway.

The problem with Davies is that he's just not really GOOD at anything. He's adequate if you limit what he's doing but in CM he just is kind of like a chicken without a head.

Well, if anything I think he's got a cool head. He doesn't seem to panic in tight situations and is happy to put his foot on the ball. That's been great for us at times when we've been closing games out. His passing and tackling can be good at times too. I think his big problem has been consistency. He's definitely worth keeping around as a squad player though.

Anyway, about the main man Allan. Wasn't there some article about his time at Napoli that used stats to suggest he's going to break down if he's asked to put too many miles in each game? It claimed Ancelotti limited his role at Napoli to a screening role to manage his fitness. If that's true, which it seems to be, it gives us a couple of problems to solve.
