People forget 5 years = less of his transfer fee on the books this year.

If he signs for £30 million on a 3 yr deal thats £10 million on the books this yr

If he signs a 5 yr its only £6 million per yr which means that £4 million this summe4 cluld go towards another signing.

Obviously wages wise could come back to bite us if he's finished by age 32/33 with another 1-2 years left on his deal but FFP speaking this summer it helps us.
