ALEX YOUNG RIP

One of the absolute Gods of Everton F.C. history.

The word 'Legend' simply does not cover what The Golden Vision meant to the fans back in the 1960s, he was imperious.

Fleet of foot, gracefulness personified and simply outstanding in the air.

He was more than a footballer, he was a true icon of what football meant to a whole generation.

Sad, sad, sad news.
RIP Alex Young - a superstar before the phrase was first coined, a Blue, a hero, a gentleman, and forever in our memories.
Yes mate, met him a few times, and he was a gentleman and a real true Everton hero.

Like many posters already, I'm too young to have enjoyed his career but if he was half as good as my Dad told me he was, then I'm truly grateful for the part he played in the wonderful history of our club.
Sleep well Alex. X

Absolute legend. My dad was a red, but said the "golden vision" was one of the best. Remember seeing him on an Everton video (history of everton I think) as a kid, such a graceful player...rip

I am old enough to have seen Alex Young play for us throughout his Everton career. A true Everton legend. RIP.

With Graeme Sharp at the graveside of the other Alex Young of the club.

So sad - my brother shook his hand - I seen him in my school pants days what a majestic player he really was aided by Royston Vernon - I place as many pictures as I can find on here of him - RIP the Golden Vision a true gentleman who as a player at no 9 glided over the muddy pictures, hung in the air to nod goals in - god bless him !
