I am hearing the sad news that one of our greatest right backs Tommy Wright has passed away. He served his club magnificently, also his country. God bless you Tommy.

So sad..from norris green..they lived round the corner..Billy wright used to play with us in the park..remember seeing Tommy in the western approaches drunk as a lord...the night before he'd been on the telly in re run of England v Brazil Mexico 1970...he was a terrific player 🙏🙏

Played footy for years with his youngest lad, who was a very talented footy player too, but couldn’t be arsed with academies and all that - centre forward.

Tommy used to get him up for us on Sunday mornings, when he’d been out on the ale and wouldn’t get up 😂

Never saw Tommy play but like above, he was a hero of my dad's and I've heard his tales many many times. Proper Evertonian.
Met Tommy numerous times over the years, always had time for a natter. He used to tell me off as a kid for calling him Mr Wright, 'It's Tommy lad just Tommy, like you and your dad'
Always the Gentleman.
A wonderful man.

RIP Tommy 🙏💙🕊
