Moyes banned stretford yet a couple of weeks ago they were palling about like best friends, yet perfectly reasonable blues hold a grudge against Alan Stubbs 12 years later because they think he forced the rooney move through. Come on lads, that's ridiculous.

Moyes has made stretford a hell of a lot of money, I'd think a holiday is the least he could repay him with

I just think getting rid of Irvine and Stubbs is a move forward for the club. Out with the old in with the new.

Some more continental style coaches and trainers coming in..

I dont know, are youth system is the envy of a lot of clubs now suddenly we have had 2 of its chief figures head hunted.

It's not just Rooney though. It's the health clause lies, and it's the 'Baines needs to leave to better himself' comments.

There are 3 reasons not to be a fan of Stubbs, not just 1.

Stubbs never said Baines needs to leave to better himself. It was Moyes who hinted that with his 'wouldn't stand in their way' type comments when he was Man Utd manager.

No mate, I was referring to the Rooney episode. You make it sound like Stubbs groomed him. Stubbs never spoke to the media about advising Rooney to leave. He certainly never did this - "represents Everton in the media and advocates OUR PLAYERS going to another club."

Again, you're twisting my words. The last part "represents Everton in the media and advocates OUR PLAYERS going to another club" - he did do, he did it with Baines last September.

And he did speak publicly about Rooney going to Utd. It was none of his business, he should not have been commenting on it publicly in 2004 but he did: http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/stubbs-tips-rooney-to-be-a-revelation-1-1023721

I remember the time period vividly and there is plenty of evidence on line to back up everything I am saying.

No, Stubbs did interviews with Talksport. You are wrong. It was last September, after the Transfer window closed. Stubbs needlessly told the media, after everything had died down, that Baines had wanted to go to Man Utd and that Everton had blocked the move. Stubbs said that you couldn't blame Baines for wanting to move to United. Why was the Everton Reserve Manager making such comments? It was totally out of line and seemingly a breach of confidence, not to mention the fact that it undermined the club. Then, we later discovered from Baines own mouth in a video interview on Everton's website that he never wanted to leave Everton. So Stubbs was telling lies.

He was asked a question. He answered it. I'm not sure how that equates to him 'representing EVERTON in the media.'

Stubbs wasn't a key part of the youth system. If anything players stalled when they reached the Reserve team set up. It's Sheedy and Dunc who coached the kids. Irvine has had a desk job for the last few years. It won't have much of an impact at all. It's a huge positive, it will allow Martinez to stamp his authority on the club even more.

He is employed by Everton Football Club. He is being asked questions about an Everton player by a media desperate for any dirt they can get their hands on - a media that is very often biased against Everton and undermines the club.

He answered a question with what turned out to be a lie that undermined the club. He's an idiot at the very least.
