Alan Stubbs to talk to Hibernian about vacant managers' job!!!!!

I agree with this. Big loss and lots of change won't be good.

Sheedy won the U18s league last season, not Stubbs or Irvine. Irvine has not done any coaching in years - his job as Academy Manager was basically to set up the coaching syllabuses so that we got A' Grade Academy status. There was an article in the Evertonian about 18 months ago about it. Even then he was mentioning he wasn't doing coaching and that it was all down to Sheedy & Dunc. Dunc was such a huge success that he got fast tracked to the first team set up, in the same way Kendall fast tracked Harvey to the first team coaching set up in 1983. Note that Martinez fast tracked Dunc into the first team set up and not Stubbs.

No, Stubbs did interviews with Talksport. You are wrong. It was last September, after the Transfer window closed. Stubbs needlessly told the media, after everything had died down, that Baines had wanted to go to Man Utd and that Everton had blocked the move. Stubbs said that you couldn't blame Baines for wanting to move to United. Why was the Everton Reserve Manager making such comments? It was totally out of line and seemingly a breach of confidence, not to mention the fact that it undermined the club. Then, we later discovered from Baines own mouth in a video interview on Everton's website that he never wanted to leave Everton. So Stubbs was telling lies.

I sort of a agree with what your saying but Stubbs wasn't telling lies. Baines actually came out recently and admitted that he did want to move to Man Utd. I can't find the articles reporting it but I distinctly remember it, he said something like he didn't deserve credit for loyalty or not kicking up a fuss because it was a win-win situation to get his big move or earn a new contract.

Can anybody back me up or am I going crazy? I don't think he said anything bad, I admired his honesty.

Don't recall this at all mate.

Simply not true.

“I am very happy at Everton and always have been. It’s a fantastic football club and I am excited about what we can achieve here in the next few years.

“I have a great relationship with the chairman and also the manager, the staff, the rest of the lads and, of course, the supporters.

“I’ve loved every minute of being here since I first joined in 2007 and I couldn’t be happier. “

As opposed to:

"Bainesy was never really an option to leave, the club had dug its heels in, but Bainesy had obviously said he'd like to go," said Stubbs

I dont know whether Baines wanted to go or not but he is unlikely to come out in the media after signing a new contract and say he was desperate to move but was not allowed so decided to sign the new contract is he? Its all soundbytes what fans want to hear. If he had moved to Man United, no doubt he would have expressed his delight at getting his dream move to United. Its the way football and PR works.

Anyway Mail are reporting its pretty much nailed on Stubbs job

Could be a destination of Everton loans if he gets that. I think Martinez would see it as a way of putting a few players under the wing of someone who knows what's expected for their development and in a competitive environment that he admires. I'd imagine Kennedy for one would be joining Stubbs with more to follow.

I dont know what Unsworth brings to the table, tbh. Not saying he doesn't have anything like.

Martinez has talked up the stuff about keeping an Evertonian core in the backroom. I'd just prefer to have the best for the job. U21 coach is quite a responsibility. Let's hope they get a candidate that can justify their presence.

The thing to remember with potential loans to Hibernian is that they aren't even playing in the SPL next year. They're in the second division.
How will our best youth improve by playing the likes of Cowdenbeath and Alloa in front of 700 fans?
They'd be better off going to Championship sides in England.

Unsworth is apparently very progressive in his views as a coach, stubbs is a clown and not a very intelligent one

Scottish papers all saying Stubbs has got the job and will be unveiled the next week, and that he'll be bringing Unsy with him as his number 2.

He kept a dignified silence throughout the whole affair, then said he was very happy at Everton. I know who I'd believe.
