I dont know what Unsworth brings to the table, tbh. Not saying he doesn't have anything like.

Martinez has talked up the stuff about keeping an Evertonian core in the backroom. I'd just prefer to have the best for the job. U21 coach is quite a responsibility. Let's hope they get a candidate that can justify their presence.

To be fair, i think he wanted an 'Evertonian' core at the Club whilst he settled, he's most definitely settled now so maybe we'll see some of Roberto's guys come in.

Are there many Evertonian coaches out there? I can only think of Dave Watson at Newcastle, David Weir (Moyes boy) and Tony Grant that @Eggs pointed out is coaching at Blackburn, as is Craig Short.

Oh and Scott Gemill is with Scotland under 17's. Reidy might be an option for the academy management job?

Baines' interviews about it clearly show he wanted the move, he just wasn't going to create a stink about it

Can you link these interviews please mate? Every interview I've seen suggest he's perfect happy at the club.

If he wanted the move I don't think he'd be signing a new contract

Link? Source? Any proof? Not saying anything, then saying he's always been happy here - that doesn't suggest he wanted to leave.

Giving Evertonians a lift to the match at the height of transfer speculation - that doesn't suggest a player determined to leave to me.

Remember when Lescott wanted out? He wouldn't even clap the fans - not at Rochdale and not at home to Malaga and Arsenal either.

Having picked up his book one time, I've mellowed a lot towards him. He was a terrific player for Everton, loves the club, and has had a very hard time.i wish him the best of luck

It would not surprise me at all if we brought back Dave Watson in some capacity. Watson is currently the Newcastle U18s manager. They finished 5th this season. He's done well there with their kids.

Watson fits what Martinez has spoken about in the past - strong Evertonian roots and a decent coaching pedrigree.

Watson also worked under Martinez at Wigan as a youth coach, from 2008 to 2011, so Martinez knows him. He only left Wigan because he got the Newcastle job and it was a step up. I think it would be great to have Waggy back - the last Everton captain to lift silverware for us!

Maybe Watson could work with Sheedy, or manage the Reserves or the Academy. With 2 spots now opening up - Academy Manager and Reserve Manager, it gives Everton a chance to bring in new blood and/or promote people from within if they wanted.

I wish Stubbsy the very best. Great servant to Everton and Celtic and this is a whole new challenge for him..

Hope to see Hibs roundly beating zombie fc over the season!!
