Big gamble by Hibs this. Hopefully it pays off
Thanks guys, looks like stubbs and unsworth will be unveiled on Monday barring any hiccups. A bit of a surprise for everyone but if we get promotion ahead of hearts and rangers he will be a hero.

We have a bit in common with everton. We both sing it's a grand old team. We both like to play the right way. We founded celtic, you founded liverpool but nobodys perfect.

...I was wondering how you felt about this, Mikey. I suppose any appointment is a gamble, but he has expressed his desire to manage with Unsworth. Like all Manager's I think his judgement in the transfer market will break or make him. Feedback from EFC is that he's not much of a tactician, more of 'get stuck in' comments from the touchline, but only time will tell.

He doesn't have any option Eggs butcher emptied a few players, to date we have,

No Goalkeepers
need a right back
need a decent cetre half as the one we have now resembles a cart horse.
a decent central midfield player with experiance
a decent wide right sided player
and two decent forwards

Over to you Alan

Would anyone actually want to work for alam stubbs? I wouldnt and wouldnt even think of employing him either...doesnt seem the sharpest.

Adios to him.

No idea why unsworth has agreed to go.

Maybe he thinks Stubbs will get sacked and he'll have a chance of succeeding him.

Dave Watson is a go8d shout. Ideally Roberto will have someone in mind that might not be known to us but is an excellent, fluid tactician and coach, perhaps from abroad.

A person I would like to see, though a bit too early for him at the moment, is Tim Cahill.

This is the latest. It's going to be a difficult job for stubbs so good luck to him. I think he was probably recommended by stuart mccall who did really well for our chief executive when she was at motherwell. Our chief exec also wanted someone who could handle the expectation and demands put on him. He should have that ability after his years at goodison.

There is an enormous turn around needed. Terry butcher took the team from 7th to last with 2 wins from his last 21 games and did his best to destroy the place. There are only 15 senior players left at the club and 4 weeks till the first game. We have good young players but i hope he has some good contacts to bring some experience in.

It could be good for a couple of young evertonians on loan. I know it's only the championship but it is still a physically tough league where they can experience playing at ibrox and tynecastle and televised games.

lol The fabled, 'hibs way', which definitely exists.

Would be astonished if Everton were to send anyone on loan to that clown car of a league. I'm sure they're desperate to see how players develop in the red hot cauldrons of Dumbarton and Central Park.

Unsy has realised the mess the club's in; few players, fan revolt, SPL season ticket prices etc.
I don't like that 'Deliverance extra' but I have a soft spot for Hibs (when my kids were 'kids' they wanted a foreign kit. The Army and Navy had these Hibs kits in on offer!!! I know, strange selling SPL kits on Mside and yes, I was a cheapskate) so I hope they do well and get back up, but it's going to be difficult with the strongest 2nd tier ever

Yeah, only 2 go up, so one from Rangers, Hearts and Hibs are going to have to spend another season in the 2nd tier. And that's assuming those 3 will be the top 3 in the league, and that none of the existing teams will threaten them.

....RM clearly gets the Everton 'thing', but I wouldn't automatically think he will look to bring in an ex-Blue if Stubbs leaves. First and foremost he will want a coach who's approach to the game is as visionary as his.
