As pointed out before - transfer news from the summer always popping its head back up.

I was all for him for the cheapo price and thought Moyes would whip him into shape. After finding out that he's injured for the WHOLE SEASON before it began that soon changed to a big fat NO from me.

Get Lita. Cheaper, younger, scores goals, just needs guidence.

I'd definatly rather have Lita. Not great himself but better than Smith and he offers pace which we lack with Saha, Yakubu and Vaughan out.

Newcastle: "That'll be £1.8M Mr Kenwright"

Kenwright: "I'm playing hard ball here. I'll get back to you when you get real"

Newcastle: "Ok, that'll be £3.5M"

Sadly, I can well believe it.

Personally i wouldnt be against adding him to the squad, i think his style would suit the way we play, im not saying he has the natural quality of Saha or Yak, but he would offer something different to both. Could be shades of and Andy Gray or Peter reid signing.

Everyone turns to [Poor language removed] when they sign for the Georides.

given his impact for newcastle this season I'm glad we didn't throw 3.5 million at him.

thanks bill.

....And Milner going to Aston Villa for £12m when he could have gone for much less a year earlier suggests that a spat could have taken place between Keegan and Dennis the manace, leading to a raising of the price. Since I can't read minds, which apparently this agent can do (good thing to have in a negotiation) we will never know, only speculate and believe what we want to believe.

Having someone like smith either up front or in midfield ready to dole out kicks to those that kick arteta, pienaar and osman would be no bad thing.

There is a place in every side for a 'reducer'. I had been hoping to see castillo wallop someone.

Hes not even like that tho, hes just a little snarler, all mouth and no action.

Hehe no worries - cheers for the welcomes lads...

I assumed this reaction which is why i asked if anyone else had heard anything that could back this up.

Just found his reasoning for the collapse interesting but I guess when you factor in his loss of cash then he could find any direction to the lay the blame.

Still, on my way to 1000 posts ;)
Welcome mate, people will judge you more harshly on your first posts.me?
I tend to believe until proof of anything sinister this is GOT not kipper

First post, and hello all:)

I think if it was to be a loan signing then he would be alright as a back up player, nothing more.

Also I read somewhere that newcastle were insterested in doing a loan swap deal with smith for baines :toilet:

Big no no in that case.
