one could ask the same for half as dozen of his teammatesHow much does he earn a week?...for doing what?
I still like him despite his erratic performances but think he'll have to move to get game time amd revive his form.
Defensively Lennon is better and creatively Deulofeu is superior so can't seen him getting in the team much in his favoured right wing position.
His goal vs Leicester was superb
I feel sorry a little for Martinez in this. Sounded like he was tracking the player for years and never able to get him.
Finally does and he just doesnt have the motivation/temperament to grab the bull by the horns and make a success of himself.
Shame.
Sunderland in the Jan transfer window. *taps nose*
McGeady was a low money gamble at a time when we had few wingers - he can put in good crosses, score some lovely goals (the Leicester one and the two for Ireland vs Georgia were all skillful) and he works hard to protect his fullback. No idea why he was signed and no idea why Lennon was signed either....
Seems bizarre to sign wingers like this...
That's all true at least for the minority of occasions. For the majority of the time he's absolutely woeful: lots of step overs but no end product at all.McGeady was a low money gamble at a time when we had few wingers - he can put in good crosses, score some lovely goals (the Leicester one and the two for Ireland vs Georgia were all skillful) and he works hard to protect his fullback.
As I say it hasn't worked out but the talent is there. There was a spell at the start of last season where I though he was really beginning to settle in and he had an excellent run of games but think he got overtired and then injured and lost all form from then on.That's all true at least for the minority of occasions. I agree we have too many wingers on the books but I have a soft spot for mcGready as he has the magical touch (sometimes).
Del boy on the right and mc Gready on the left. That could be fun.
Depth can't mean just numbers for the sake of it, surely. It means the player who comes in can do a job when called on, and also they put pressure on the player in the team who is ahead of them in the queueWe need depth not just a starting XI.
