...£2.5m deal agreed according to this;

If true, RK is doing a good job of clearing out players who don't fit into his plans, which is no mean achievement.
Nothing personal towards Aiden but if it is true then good riddance as he was never up to the standard that we required; in fact not even close!

Although even if the reported fee of £2.5m is correct and supposed profit, which to be fair I find somewhat dubious, it glosses over a huge failure.

Plus his reportedly relatively significant wages for such a lacklustre player will nullify any income we'll finally get when we sell him.

..I think every manager will have negatives in the transfer market. McGeady was low risk because we got him for a relatively small amount (although his salary will be mid-range). In hindsight it's a gamble that hasn't paid off but I suspect much of that is down to the lack of application by the player.

The only positive I can recall about his time here was speaking in Russian in a press conference when we played that Russian side away a few years back.

True. However, Martinez had more a reasonable amount of nays compared to yays and for me McGeady epitomises our poor strategy at the time.

One of Martinez weaknesses was going for once touted young players who had major flaws - thinking that he could get them to the player they where once hyped to be, but as he showed as a manager - he wasn't the type to fundamentally change a player with weaknesses, Deuloefeu, McGeady both firmly in that catagory

Whoever is in charge of deciding where and what loan deal we made for the unwanted players has honestly played a blinder. If it was Walsh making those decisions then it's a huge plus in his column so far.

Deulofeu - basically Milan are desperate to sign him now from us, will make us a significant profit
Cleverley - went into a terrible central midfield devoid of any ability so has shone for them, and we got it written in for a permanent after so many games - again a significant profit on the player
Niasse - was looking like we'd have to pay someone to take him, now despite his obvious flaws he will be on the radar for any team worried about relegation - because he's shown that he has the spirit for a relegation battle and can come up with some goals in that calibre of team - we will probably make a book profit amazingly on this lad now
McGeady - gone from us not being able to get rid of him to anyone - to succeeding on his loan to the extent we will now actually make a profit on him.

Outstanding work really, throw in selling Oviedo, Gibson and actually getting decent money for them both and it bodes very well for us being able to shift practically anyone we deem surplus
