Was Iain Turner really that bad? Can't say I remember him. That United game was the last home I missed. Had turbo aids.

Serious. Proper Goalie's i've seen play regular for us he's one of the worst. Only Gerrard and richard Wright were worse.

But when you look at the other recent-ish regulars you have boss Nigel Martyn, and that's about it.

I can confirm that Howard was utter tripe last season only picking it up half way through the season. It's true we need a PL standard goalkeeper but I fear that McGeady isn't the answer.

To be fair we have been quite blessed with goalies over the years (well three of them in my eyes) so being the next worst after Gerrard isnt too bad.

I don't even rate Howard that high. But he's not bad at all. He's just not brilliant either.

When it comes to wingers here is my order of preference:

Moses
McGeady
McManaman

wild card is Nacer Chadli, have not seen him play, but everything that comes out of Belgium right now is good.

Martinez was reported to have told McManaman he should stay at Wigan and get the experience of regular football. It sounds to me he'll leave him there.

Interesting to think that he may not have got the cup win if he'd landed McGeady, given McManaman's performance on the day.

Thomas Myhre.

Seems to be a divisive player with some fans though. I thought he was tremendous until he went mad after the Villa game. His debut against Leeds is still the best goalkeeping performance I have ever seen and I saw Southall every week for years.

Of course Southall id it every week though.

And yeah....Aiden McGeady, no thanks.
