No I wouldn't say so. Victor and Jelavic rarely played together and scored 16? goals between them.

Also, Jelavic was adjusting to the PL without a full pre-season and he was by no means the first to struggle after that. I expect him to look much better this season and regain some form. I'm confident if he plays a full season he'll get over 15 goals.

Howard was an abomination for 2/3 of the season, Pienaar was none existent for all bar four games and I'm still not convinced by the Distin/Jags partnership though they looked much better second half of the season.

Could not disagree with you more

I thought Howard did okay last season to be honest

It's hard to play nearly 50 games and not mess up once or twice

For the majority of the season, I think he did well

It wasn't just once or twice though mate and the mistakes he made were costly.

Newcastle home cost us 2 points, Norwich home cost us 2 points, Stoke away cost us 2 points and so on.

Those points start to add up.

The only time that I have seen McGeady play recently has been with Ireland and in those games he has been more functional than sensational.

However,we must remember we are dealing with a manager that playes Glen Whelan and Keith Andrews before McCarthy and Gibson,a manager that twelve months ago didn't bring Coleman to the Euros. So God knows what instructions McGeady is given before a game we are probably lucky he isn't playing in goals.

He was sufficiently highly rated to cost 10.75 m and for me he would bring something to our squad that we have never really had under David Moyes....a winger...not a player that can play in three other positions but a genuine wide player.
It would then be up to the manager to get the best from him.

So overall, not a signing I would dream about, but he certainly would bring something very different to the squad.

I don't see him do anything that Seamus coleman didn't do at RM. In fact I'd say Seamus was a better crosser from what I've seen.

When it comes to wingers here is my order of preference:

Moses
McGeady
McManaman

wild card is Nacer Chadli, have not seen him play, but everything that comes out of Belgium right now is good.
