Trump already battered Americas reputation by reneging on the Iran deal. Biden wasn't about to do the same.
75% of Americans want an end to the war.
Reneging on the agreement would lead to continuing war, in fact it would likely lead to an escalation as Trump had freed taliban leadership and biden would have to instate a new puppet government.
The withdrawal, however, has not been handled well.
Trusting the Taliban for security from ISIS seems like a desperate measure.

As Presidents love to say “the buck stops here”…..you say the withdrawal has ‘not been handled well’… did you see the U.K. House of Commons when they discussed this and how Biden completely ignored his allies. Do you have any concept what Biden has actually done in the eyes of the rest of the world. Russia and China couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome even if they were paying him, or his son…..

look no further than his predecessor starting peace talks with the taliban, releasing prisoners, having hardly any conditions, not including the Afghan government. This mess has been in the works since Feb 19.

I had little time for the man, he was an idiot. I had more time for his dad, but even he screwed up by not pursuing Saddam when the time was right and the military in place. Then the idiot son diverted resource from Afghanistan and went back into Iraq…..

I know it has. I blame them both, but Biden could have changed the outcome if he had wanted. Stop just pointing at Trump, he was an idiot, look to the man that many on here voted in….

The overwhelming majority of all media has been massively anti Biden on this, he's been absolutely slaughtered on the so called lefty news channels such as CNN, MSNBC etc.

There may be some examples of a few people backing him but they are massively outnumbered by the negative coverage he has received.

as I responded to Tubey, I am. I think Biden has made a mess of the withdrawal. I'm more addressing the collective amnesia among some posters when it comes to the roll of Trump in this mess.

I keep repeatedly seeing variations of "Biden has handled this badly but..." - with the key word being "but".

There shouldn't be a "but" with this.
