Do you have any idea what you're going on about? Have you been to Afghanistan? Do you know many that don't live in Kabul?Because western/American culture is totally alien to them.

I've met afghans, seeking asylum here in France. Not because of taliban but due to the regime in kabul.Do you have any idea what you're going on about? Have you been to Afghanistan? Do you know many that don't live in Kabul?

Material gain I would suspect. These were big city boys not country bumpkins. They often claim to have relatives already here.I am late to this, but why do they seek asylum in the West?
Have you got any idea how silly that sounds?I've met afghans, seeking asylum here in France. Not because of taliban but due to the regime in kabul.
Oh yes.Have you got any idea how silly that sounds?
Glad we agree.Oh yes.
The USA should be ashamed of its deplorable decision to cut and run. Biden is an idiot. Tens of thousands will now die and a new terrorist haven will be established …
think they were very weak back in 2015/2016Taliban would have taken over the country even if USA/UK stayed for another decade. The whole war was a complete farce.
I agree. But do you not think the UK has just done the same. Even if we're not a strong enough power to go it on our own, we should have stayed to help the Afghan regime we helped put in power to finish the job they started. At the same time we should have been putting pressure on the UN to replace some of the vacuum left by USA pulling out.The USA should be ashamed of its deplorable decision to cut and run. Whether we should have gone in in the first place is a completely different conversation, and a hell of a complicated one too. But once we went in the last thing we should have done is pull out with the job half finished.Taliban would have taken over the country even if USA/UK stayed for another decade. The whole war was a complete farce.
I think someone uk-side tried to form a coalition once the US were known to be pulling out.I agree. But do you not think the UK has just done the same. The USA were wrong, but so were we.
Fair enough. I didn't know that. It really should be a job for the UN don't you think. Surely that's what it is there for.I think someone uk-side tried to form a coalition once the US were known to be pulling out.
