No RM, no overwhelmingly convincing RB, no LB cover, no obvious strike partner for Jelavic....4/5 quality players minimum to make headway this season; 2/3 quality players needed to stand still over the course of the season.

Also, a Naismith hattrick and a 25-yard free kick from Hibbert, Dave. thoughts?

i have no idea what position he was actually playing but all his goals were on the right hand side and that's usually where he was coming from good enough for me ha

There's some delusion going on in th thread if some believe that what we have squad-wise is getting on for ok. It isn't. It's well short of numbers and it's well short of quality in key areas.

if hibbert scoring doesn't make you happy nothing will. we have a better squad than liverpool and newcastle and even if they are similar in your opinion they dont have quality in depth anyway and will be playing a lot more games in europa. obviously we all wish it was different and we gazzilions to spend, but considereing we're constantly broke, we have a good squad especially when compared to those around us

It's always short of numbers and short of quality in key areas, has been for a fair few seasons. Not sure what you're expecting but little will likely happen really mate(kenwright/board hur dur). But we've done okay past few seasons with the situation as it is, not saying this season will be the same but we won't dramaticly go down the table from where we usually are.

Yeah, give them a chance, but buy in quality too...a revolutionary step for us like.

I dont know where the enthusiaism comes from, tbh. We play out of our socks with what we have we'll get 7th or 8th. Sound.

Compared to the likes of Manu, Chelsea and Man City yeah our squad is weak. But realistically we can't afford the wages required for a strong second eleven. On the whole, i'd rather our squad than 75% of the teams in our league.
