Del leaving will rank up there with the departures of Alan Ball, Colin Harvey, Duncan Ferguson and Wayne Rooney as transfers which broke my heart.

I like Geri, but this defo needs a gif

Welcome Ademola

Mate you posted that about 30hrs ago so you've had plenty of time to think about what you said, do you still honestly think that Del leaving ranks up there with the selling of those players, Alan Ball for god sake after Dean the greatest player to ever play for this club, WCW, league title winner, won 72 caps and captained his country on several occasions. I along with many, many more 15yr old blues cried the day he was sold how many 15yr old do you think will mourn the lose of Del, Colin Harvey part of the greatest midfield this club has ever had, went on to coach the side that won 2 titles an FA cup and ECWC. Rooney whatever your thoughts on him no one can deny what a great player he was for the very short time he was with us, he was already a world class player when he left us. Ferguson well I'm not one of those who class him as a legend but he done enough in his career with us to warrant being placed above Del boy if only for the goals he scored against the rs.

I'm not 100% on this, but it may possibly, and quite likely, be a sarcastic post.

Absolutely bonkers how recently he was playing with mates in parks. And now he's going on the bench for a good Prem team. How the hell does that even happen?

To put it into context, when he was a kid at school knocking footballs around in the park (and he went to school about 10 minutes walk from me, so probably the park outside my house!), he was going home and watching MoTD highlights of Ross and Rom being exciting young talents in the season where we came 5th. Now his shirt will be hanging up next to theirs in the dressing room. WTF.

In a word.....yes.

( and no, I haven't had "plenty of time" to think about it....I haven't given it a moment's further thought and had completely forgotten about that remark until you reminded me. You think I analyse in my head every post I make on here in the ensuing 30 hours or sommat )

You see, here's the thing Nobby.

This Everton stuff, this unrequited love I have had since I was a boy and which has left me broken hearted umpteen times more than any woman I have ever been involved with, it never gets old for me.

Much as I cherish our past and the great players we have had, I don't dwell there.

I tend to live in the moment....I am always in the market for new Everton heroes.

I will mourn the sale of Del in pretty much the same way I mourned the sale of Wayne Rooney.

With a sense of what might have been.......rather than the sense of what was with Bally and Dixie.

That might not suit you but there you go......we all look at things from a different point of view.

But that's okay, that's football.

;)

What you say is obviously utterly ridiculous and yet I agree with every word - funny thing Everton

Yeah came across really well. Confident but not overly.

Might actually be a good thing that he didnt through an academy type thing. Means he's a bit different.

Players who have just enjoyed playing football and allowed their raw skill to blossom, combined with no grand ideas of being told you are the best from the age of 10 is a good thing for young development.

His education results show he works hard and takes information on board.

He comes across as a humble, hard working lad.

I hope he turns into a star here.
