....he has the skill-set to be a quality footballer but the very best also have attitude. By attitude, I mean they play every game like it matters, and they deliver when the team most needs it.

I don’t need convincing of his quality, i’ve watched him enough coming through the ranks. I still need convincing of his attitude.

I wonder whether his in game attitude could be down to being a self taught player and not through an academy.

He has loads of raw exciting ability but perhaps lacks the top level game smarts.

I think the more he plays the better he will get. The previous managers would never trust a player with that skill set. Hopefully he grows into the all round player that is required. This season is perfect for him to try and do so.

....could be, but I think personal drive and attitude is lots to do with where you come from.

I hope when he goes in two years for 90 million it's abroad. His want to got to red bull fills with me positivity.

Absolutely have to stick with him for 5 games minimum now. To improve on Walcott this season he will need to play well for 2 in 5 so we MUST give him a chance to have a bad game. He hasn't had that at this club to date.

People mature at different rates and require the right mentor to unlock potential.

He is still a kid who hasn't had the greatest experience here and as such looked likely to leave. I think he can still become a great player here. Long way to go but Sunday was encouraging. There are many examples of young players who have looked like not making it and then it suddenly all clicking into place.

....I have no doubt about the talent, its just the desire to play and win that you see in a Rooney or a Suarez that i’m not so sure about. It’s encouraging that Lookman was a regular in the lower leagues where the going is tough.

If he improves his vision on the ball, I think he’ll become a really good player for us. He still looses the ball in silly ways at times, but I think he’s going in the right direction.

Losing the ball is acceptable when you are trying risky passes that if they come off will split the defence or create something . I’m sick of watching everyone play easy , cowardly football. Like they’re scared to make a mistake , Bernard , siggy and lookman are the only ones that attempt these passes and losing the ball is going to happen more with these three than anyone else and I’m fine with that

He looses it by trying to shield the ball, and players brushing him aside.
