I don’t need convincing of his quality, i’ve watched him enough coming through the ranks. I still need convincing of his attitude.

Sterling is interesting because he's superb at being in the right place to finish which is I guess why he is stupidly played at center forward sometimes. At least to this point Lookman doesn't appear to be that kind of finisher. Hopefully Lookman can get us goals because Richarlison aside we are getting nothing from the wings and obviously Richarlison has some ambiguity to whether he is a winger or not. We need goals from the wide positions.

Do you mean his attitude towards the club or his attitude one the pitch? I think being a young footballer desperate to play and not given a chance last season clearly affected him. Once he is assured of more start we begin to see him publicly enjoying his stay here. I think his moody goal celebration led to a lot of misunderstanding. Potential siggy successor in the long run.

...I totally mean his attitude on the pitch. I rate the lad highly but he needs to effectively influence games week in week out. Too many times (even this season) he’s not had sufficient impact. It’s such an important aspect of his game.

He does, but his assist came from wide, its an interesting skill, if he can wing play and come centrally he will be an absolute nightmare to defend. Its the breakdown though.

That's how Silva wants him to play and why he's a great fit and why Coleman is a bad fit as he seems to like to attack the goal more rather than attack from width and cross or pass from outside. Silva wants the fullback to provide the width, wants the forwards to cut in and score goals. Lookman is also much better on the left when he cuts inside. Digne and Bernard/Richy work on the left for that reason. Wish he'd put Bernard on the right to play with Coleman and let Coleman move inside as Bernard tends to play more as a winger on that side (Silva has noted as so). The lack of him playing that side indicates that he really doesn't want that to be the case.

Coleman will have to adjust basically. We will see if that happens or not.

If he improves his vision on the ball, I think he’ll become a really good player for us. He still looses the ball in silly ways at times, but I think he’s going in the right direction.

I haven't really understood the hype with Lookman in the past, but I thought that he was superb on Sunday, and I'd like to see him given a proper run in the side now.

There was only one instance where he dawdled and was dispossessed in a dangerous area - a tendency which I thought was going to massively hamper him in the Premier League - and his work rate was exemplary.
