Ademola Lookman

Attacking substitutions are usually greeted well when we need a goal though, and people probably thought making him feel welcome would help if he’s wanting away.

I just think people are making a mountain out of a molehill with stuff like this. Davies doesn’t get stick ‘no matter what’ and to suggest he does is laughable. He gets stick because people don’t think he’s contributing enough, same as anyone else - you even just used an example in Martina who tried but wasn’t good enough. Exactkyvthe same principle.

Mate lookman has been trying all summer to wrangle a move away from Everton and he's totally unprofessional in the process. If the roumors are to he believed and there are way way too many roumors not to be truth to it. Then he gets a standing ovation like were grateful that we had to force him to stay.

You are insane if you don't think davies is the new whipping boy. The lad gets dogs abuse you hear it at every game, it's all over social media and people even give it to him on phone ins on the radio.

Yes you're right martina is a prime example because that lad isn't a professional footballer. He was the worst footballer I have ever seen in a blue jersey and what did our fans say? "At least he tries" "he's trying his best".

Davies on the other hand. Plays it back to retain possession "stop being negative". Plays it forwards to start a attack and it gets cut out "what are you doing losing it?". If he makes the forward pass nobody praises him.

The kid is 19 and people act like he should be the finished article ffs. In fact out of the two of davies and lookman. Lookman looks to me like the one least likely to make it in the prem.

Got to say @Lanolin - while I agree that Davies (and anyone else for that matter) should get stick if playing badly, it's also obvious he seems to get more than is warranted while others get let off the hook more. I don't know why.

Anyway, Lookman did okay when he came on. He was frustrating at times as he never really got going and opened his legs, but the one time he did find some space he created the chance that should have seen us get the winner.

With all of the injuries, he's got his chance now.

He will amount to nothing.

Clearly basing this on the fact I've simmed my way to ,2020 on FIFA and he's only a 73 rated LM whilst Onyekuru has grown to a 82.

You’re either very young, or you slept through the 90’s

I wouldn't say I'm particularly young (early 30s). So I don't remember the early 90s but I remember the late. I remember watching some crap back then but they were just crap footballers I never looked at any of them and thought "you're not a professional footballer". With martina I did.

No problems with him yesterday, he did ok, but I feel some are critising him because the youngster, who hasn't played a Premier League game since last year, didnt come on and turn around a game where the rest of the outfield with one or two exceptions (Zouma) were awful. Very few player could of come on in that game and made an inpact, let alone one who has been all over the place recently thinking about his future

Martina was not good enough for us by any means, but to say “he’s not a professional footballer” is just daft - he’s made a career playing top flight football in England and Holland for years.

I think that feeling is mostly down to a disparity in expectations. He certainly isn’t good enough for where we expect to be now, and is a MASSIVE step down from Coleman who we were used to seeing in the right back role (and Baines, when Martina was playing out of position at left back).

But if we’d had Martina in the 90’s, very little would have been said about him, because he would have been compared to the likes of Earl Barrett, Tony Thomas, Alec Cleland, Marc Hottiger, John O’Kane, Mitch Ward etc. I’d go so far as to say he would have been one of our better RB’s in the 90’s

In his entire career martina has played 230 times since 2008 and if it wasn't for terrible recruitment he would of made a hell of a lot less. Just as a comparison kompany has been in England since 2008 and played 337 times and he only played 30+ games in the premier league in 3 seasons. In fact he made less then 20 league appearances in 3 of his other season's in the premier league.

Martina hasn't made a career of being a professional footballer he's made a career at being a professional bench warmer.

Genuinely don’t know what to say mate, he’s been paid by multiple top flight football clubs, just because he hasn’t been good enough to play in the first team, doesn’t mean he’s not good enough to be a professional. Anyway, feel like we’re going round in circles. Suffice to say he’s comfortably better than those I mentioned, while still not being good enough for us.

He is obviously a professional footballer... you just sound silly here.
