2025/26 Adam Aznou

That would take superhuman strength, but Moyes says he needs to develop physically :o
I take that to mean capable of handling the pace and power of the PL. Its one thing to come on for last 10 when opponents are tiring much different to be expected to start and manage 70+ minutes. And if we are holding onto a lead I don't see him coming on to replace VM unless he is struggling.

I was kidding as if he literally lifted the crowd with his hands.

Fair point but he and Dibling could have had far more time on the pitch to ease themselves into a rhythm.

That totally works when Branth is fit and can come wide to cover for the attacking left back, but I don’t think it works the same with Keane there - infact nothing does! That’s not a criticism of Keane, it’s just a fact that Branth gives us balance and a way of playing that no one else can and without him we’re never quite the same team are we?
Very true, left footed and faster

Hopefully he gets more chances before the end of the season. He showed an ability to pass and run forward that some of our players lack, and that recently the team has lacked for long spells! If he’s not up to starting as a fullback, maybe he could be used there when we’re chasing a game, he’d certainly make us more attacking! And he’s shown in only a few minutes that he can have an affect playing higher up the pitch. With our squad being so small, it seems odd that he had literally had 0 minutes anywhere. Give him a chance!

Aznou + Grealish > Mykolenko + Grealish.

Without a shadow of a doubt.

Had to laugh at Moyes post match - “the boy done good in a different position but for him to get in the team at left back, we’ve got some real strong competition here so for him to get in the team will be difficult.”

Who’s he talking about? Not Myko surely!

I think he was talking about left wing mate. He was saying he isn't physically strong enough for left back, but isn't good enough to challenge for left wing. In Moyes' mind it's Grealish, Mcneil, Alacaraz, move Illy over there and then last Aznou.

There's no way he couldn't have given Grealish a few breathers and given Aznou 10 minute run outs to get him up and running.

Look at Dibling, looks completely undercooked and under prepared for when his opportunity has come about.

He's only played about 40 mins but he's already put more quality crosses into the box than Myko has all season. That one hit in between the keeper and the CBs with pace was perfect and waiting to be buried. It's so demoralising when we work Myko into space and he either hits the first man, floats a ball in to no one or does a pee roller that is easily cleared. I honestly can't understand why a professional footballer can't put even the occasional decent cross in. I'm expecting Beckham or Baines but just put the ball in a dangerous area with some pace.

This is why I think a back 5 with garner at RB could work. He'd have the cover

No disrespect to him but playing half an hour of extra time on the wing against a team who’ve just played 90 minutes, is so far away from starting as a left back, it’s untrue.
It isn’t about trust, it’s about reality. When he’s ready, he’ll get a chance. If he’s never ready, he’ll be moved on.
If he thinks he’s ready but the club doesn’t then he’ll be on his 4th club by 20 which probably starts to raise alarms with the big teams in the big leagues.

That said, if that happens, in 7 years time when he’s playing mid table Serie A, I’ll enjoy the ‘we got rid of him too early’ chat.

However, I hope he sticks with it, keeps progressing and gets a go either later this season or early next with us.
