2025/26 Adam Aznou

In fairness, I think not making subs was the right call yesterday. We were doing a good job at limiting their opportunities and running down the clock.
I know, couldn’t really fault the lack of subs and Grealish in particular was magnificent that second half at just killing their momentum.

I just think the lad could have come on and added even more energy for us after he did well against Sunderland. Sure he will get more chances, at least I hope he does, as I think there’s a player there.

Normally very happy to slate Moyes for not giving enough minutes to Dibling/Aznou etc as subs but yesterday was not the game for it. Wasn't anyone you'd take off for him.
Yes our midfield & defence were in complete control v a side who were on an 11 unbeaten run & so strong at home - amazing what a 3 man field can do with pace ..... all three were outstanding .....& a real poachers goal by Barry who forced that winning goal .....

Quite disappointed that Adam never got on against Villa, after his decent showing against Sunderland.

….fortunately we have a manager who knows how important it was to see that game out. Players were set, they all knew their jobs and had given everything to the cause.

It’s different had we been chasing the game, you can take a risk just like Moyes did with Aznou against Sunderland.

It was a great team effort one good effort & a great save by Pickford - that was it = we were in total control our 3 man midfield were magnificent ...

See my post above mate, couldn’t really fault the lack of subs from the manager, I can still be a little disappointed that Adam never got on though.

Strange feeling as usually if we're winning the last 20 minutes are nail biting time. Last 20 minutes yesterday i was pretty calm as we had them clamped down. They looked all out of ideas. Moyes got his tactics spot on the players adhered to them perfectly. Even those who hadnt had much game time never looked out on their feet.

When there is a high probability they will affect the match in a positive way. You think bringing Aznou on while we're up 1-0 defending would have contributed to seeing that match out better than Mykolenko staying on the pitch?
I'm pointing out if leading in a close match should have zero chance of bringing on a sub, when is a good time because Moyes isn't doing it when trailing by a goal either...unless it's not a league match

Bringing on "a" sub or bringing on Aznou? Again I ask, would bringing on Aznou given us a greater chance to win the match?
