Didn't think it was too bad in the first half, a bit lethargic but ok(ish) No idea what we were trying to do in the 2nd half however, interested to see the game at the weekend, crying out for some creativity in this team imo.

We do, we have Alan Irwin on PL and cup games highlights, Griffiths only does like 3/4 preseason games and then sparingly for youth games. It’s not a massive deal

Griffiths does all the commentary for cup and league games.

Isaac heath had some impressive runs with the ball as well. I think for an initial friendly where the other team already played 3 games we didn't look too rusty and we're able to get some regular players some fitness on the pitch

Thought Heath in his cameo was the best player on the pitch, was pleasantly surprised how quick he is

Harrison at midfield seems way more attack and goal minded than Garner. I’d love to see him get the nod.

He was dreadful tbh, passing was horrendous, but I looked him up and apparently he plays centre back so I guess he was out of position.

But I still don't know how you could like the look of him off this particular performance lol

He has just come back from an injury so will not be full up to speed.
Only young so expect him to be a bit up and down .

I would move McNeil on if we are ever lucky to receive a decent offer. For every moment of decent finishing or a bit of good play, he is a non entity most of the time.

Him and Charly weren't at it tonight that's for sure

Re Patterson, he wasn't bad but he wasn't good either. Don't like his habit of slowing down attacks by stopping and then playing a safe pass back to a central defender. Mykolenko had too much of that in the earlier days. Probably an SPL level player.

Noticed that too but to be fair to him McNeil wasn't offering much of an outlet first half and Patterson looked much better when Heath came on as they combined well

Nathan Patterson was MotM tonight, without a doubt. I'm feeling encouraged by the performance he put in.

And him shouting some choice words to our new keeper

Yeah looked good. Never heard his name mentioned though. Has he just stepped up to the 18s??

I think we signed him from Wimbledon last season and he was involved with the under-18s from that point onwards. Tonight was not my first exposure to him as I watched him in the test event against Wigan Athletic, but I was more impressed tonight - even if I only watched him briefly.
